WHAT IS CHESS?

Chess is a board-game that is played across the globe and originates from India, astonishingly it began 1500 years ago.

These were on of the first pieces made:

The top row shows a king, queen and
a rook. The bottom row shows a knight
,then a bishop and pawn.

There are 16 pieces for each side, black and white, which are: 

The King 

The Queen 

Two Rooks 

Two Knights 

Two Bishops (one white one black)

And Eight Pawns.
